(PRESS RELEASE) MANALAPAN, NJ — Registration is now open for the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, International (NORA) Clinical Skills Pre-Conference (Sept. 10-11) and 29th annual General Conference (Sept. 12-13) at the Hyatt Regency Columbus in Columbus, OH.

“This year’s conference theme, Eye, Brain & Body Integration in Neuro Care, continues our commitment toward advancing professional knowledge and understanding of Neuro-Optometric care and encouraging strong working relationships among healthcare professionals,” says NORA President Susan Daniel, OD.

The Clinical Skills program provides 16 hours of continuing education and includes both hands-on and lecture style presentations with emphasis on integrated therapeutic approaches to rehabilitation. It offers three different levels which run concurrently and cannot be taken simultaneously.

“New educational programs in our Clinical Skills pre-conference core curriculum will provide colleagues from different practice areas an opportunity to learn more about how to work together to achieve better results for patients,” said DeAnn Fitzgerald, OD, NORA vice president and conference education chair. These include:

  • A workshop created specifically for allied healthcare professionals that will provide attendees with a foundational understanding of the role of neuro-optometric rehabilitation for vision disorders.
  • A one-day workshop designed mainly for new staff members or seasoned staff who are just beginning to provide services for neuro patients, which will include separate sessions on Billing and Coding and Neuro Triage. “Optometrists who are looking to add a neuro component to their office will also benefit from this course,” adds Dr. Fitzgerald.

The NORA General Conference offers up to 14 additional hours of continuing education for optometrists and allied professionals and features key opinion leaders from optometry and other specialties.
