Some contact-wearing women are coming back into the eyeglass fold.
Aging populations, sedentary lifestyles and increasing exposure to radiation from electronic displays will combine to boost the global market for eyeglasses to 4.5 billion units by 2020, according to a new study by Global Industry Analysts. The study shows that niche segments such as sports eyewear and children’s eyewear are among the fastest-growing categories. Also, trendy designer models are bringing some contact-wearing women back into the eyeglass fold.
