(PRESS RELEASE) LONGARONE, ITALY — Thélios, the eyewear expert of French luxury group LVMH, announces its exclusive partnership for the design, production, and distribution of Rimowa Eyewear, the first eyewear collection from luxury luggage brand Rimowa.

Combining lightness, functionality and innovation, Rimowa Eyewear shares the values of the Maison’s iconic luggage. The Summer 2020 collection features both sunglasses and optical frames and will be available at selected Rimowa stores worldwide, online at Rimowa.com as well as within Thélios’ selective distribution network starting July 9, 2020.

With contemporary styling and timeless form, Rimowa Eyewear updates classic shapes like the pilot, square and pantos with traditional or colored reflective lenses. The frame takes its cues from early aviation and pilot essentials, much like Rimowa’s iconic aluminum grooves first inspired by aircraft fuselage.

The Rimowa Bridge is crafted from two pieces of mask overlaid and assembled by pins, echoing trademark engineering details like Rimowa’s industrial rivets and seal. The result is a refined thickness of frame which does away with additional bulk or weight.

The Rimowa Rim is a minimal frame that provides a light-wearing and comfortable shield from the elements. Expertly crafted in acetate, the material is carefully applied by hand on the lens in tortoiseshell or block color with metal temples in a palladium finish featuring discrete nods to the iconic brand’s signature grooves.

The Rimowa Air is an extremely lightweight optical range crafted in metal and nylon and designed for everyday wear, comfort and ease.

All three eyewear lines are built to withstand the rigors of travel and come with a protective pouch or case for easy transport on journeys far and wide.
