Show Organizers Celebrate First Anniversary of ShopVISION, Vision Expo’s Global Digital Sourcing Platform, and Share Details on Upcoming Platform Enhancements and Features

Vision Expo organizers detailed the substantial investments and new strategies that will drive platform value for vendors in 2022.




(PRESS RELEASE) ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Vision Council and RX, co-organizers of Vision Expo, hosted a webinar last week on Wednesday, July 13 during which the Show organizers shared key, first-year milestones and exciting updates for ShopVISION, Vision Expo’s global digital sourcing solution built for optical and optometric providers.

Since launching in July 2021 more than 7,000 products have been uploaded across 80 categories to the ShopVISION platform and nearly 14,000 supplier leads have been created by eyecare provider activity on the platform.

“As we look ahead to the next year of ShopVISION, we are poised to supercharge buyer growth, drive buyer engagement with suppliers and introduce advanced product marketing,” said Matthias Clock, director of marketing, Vision Expo, at RX.

During the webinar, Vision Expo organizers detailed the substantial investments and new strategies that will drive platform value for vendors in 2022.

Key platform improvements include

  • Show registration integration: In January of 2022, Vision Expo East registrants were able to create a free ShopVISION account within Show registration. By integrating Show registration with ShopVISION account creation, Vision Expo drove more than 6,000 buyer account creations.
  • New Request for Quote (RFQ) feature: RFQs allow buyers to request pricing for products from multiple suppliers simultaneously, making sourcing easier and providing detailed proposals to Suppliers.
  • Integration with Intercom: Intercom is the global leader in web communications systems. By integrating Balluun and Intercom in July, ShopVISION will drive buyer engagement through automated and behavioral messaging.
  • Van Bram Marketing Team: Van Bram is a full SaaS marketing team that was onboarded in July 2022 to drive buyer engagement on ShopVISION, increase retention, and boost buyer acquisition through organic and paid marketing.

Additionally, in August, ShopVISION is integrating with Frames Data, which will allow eyewear brands that are Frames Data subscribers to instantly populate and refresh their collections and product information in real time.
