This technology has big momentum – and comes with major privacy concerns.

Following in the footsteps of Samsung and Google, Sony has filed a patent for a smart contact lens that takes photos when you blink, writes Sony Alpha Rumors. “Yes this is a full working camera worn on an eyeball that has a lens unit, image sensor, microchip processor and storage unit on the contact lens! It also has a built-in wireless antenna to transmit pictures to any device (smartphone or laptop for example),” the article says. The technology sounds incredible, of course, but you can probably imagine the kind of privacy issues this will create once it comes to market. You can see the patent drawing at the link below.
