Report breaks down forecasts by sex, race and age.
Expenditures for eye diseases and vision problems in the U.S. will reach $717 billion by 2050, with government paying 41 percent of those costs, according to a new report by Prevent Blindness. Hispanics are projected to exhibit extremely high growth in diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and cataract cases.
