The State of Dry Eye

Bausch + Lomb shared results from their inaugural State of Dry Eye survey, which explores dry eye understanding and experiences among US adults. The survey revealed most (70%) don’t know much about preventing or treating dry eye despite respondents reporting regularly experiencing symptoms that may be related to dry eye, such as tired eyes (38%), sensitivity to light (27%), and redness (19%); fewer (15%) reported regularly experiencing eye dryness, suggesting people may not recognize their symptoms could be linked to dry eye. More alarming, 44% don’t know that untreated dry eye can lead to other problems and even vision loss. In response, B+L launched online resource KnowYourDryEye.com to raise awareness. knowyourdryeye.com

Hybrid Vision Care

A new survey from XP Health and Ipsos suggests offering digital solutions with a hybrid (i.e., in-person or virtual) approach can improve satisfaction with vision care. The study’s aim was to understand employees’ and employers’ drivers and barriers to digital platform usage. They surveyed 510 employees and 200 employers in the US. 75% of employees and 91% of employers believed digital platforms would facilitate easier access to benefits, while 68% of employees and 89% of employers agreed digital health platforms would make accessing benefits more convenient. 73% of employees were comfortable accessing vision benefits via a digital platform, with 22% preferring a hybrid or virtual platform first. xphealth.co/ipsos-whitepaper-gated
