You know you have a true optical aficionado when they can only list one thing they don’t like about their job. Enter Jennifer Centeno, optician and director of operations. That one thing? Insurance, obviously. “They always seem to complicate things for no reason,” she says. But the things she loves outnumber the thing she doesn’t. Her favorites are styling patients in their eyewear — “My goal is to help everyone feel the most confident in their new glasses.” — the operations side of the business — “I love all the ins and outs of making sure the business runs smoothly.” — and that the learning never ends — “It keeps me on my toes.” To unwind from a stressful day she turns to the classics. “My favorite films from Hollywood’s Golden Era, anything starring Joan Crawford, Rita Hayworth, or Bette Davis. I’m also a huge fan of the TWILIGHT ZONE.” She also turns to her relaxing playlist of punk and metal on her drive home and spending time with her dog. “I am a crazy dog lady and he is always by my side.”
