Dr. Rook Torres is an industry outsider — he’s been a chiropractor for 22 years — but loves eyecare and understands the challenges of running a medical practice. He’s also the co-founder of Spexy which supports independent opticals. Among his favorite things to do are chatting with ODs about the results they see after working with Spexy and attending industry events. “Nothing beats having a bourbon with old and new optical buds,” he says. But bookkeeping and managing do not come naturally to him. “I surround myself with talented team members who love those things and help them thrive!” After work, he winds down with constant play. “Basketball, weightlifting, wake surfing, tennis, skiing, game night … I can make a game out of doing the dishes.”
