AH, WE MEET AGAIN with another viral TikTok and Twitter trend that has turned into an interactive game for thousands of social media users. If you remember from last time, we talked about the Red Flags meme that showed warning signs to look out for in people.
The “10” game, if you will, encourages you to rank a make-believe partner from 1 to 10 with given qualifications and conditions that makes this person more or less attractive.
For example, “He’s a 10 but he mismatches his socks,” which means he’s now subject to a new — and lower — score. Or, “She’s a 10 but takes forever to reply to your texts.” Definitely not a 10 if you ask me!
Now what if we applied this game to the world of eyecare? I asked the dedicated followers of Overheard Optometry, who immediately flooded the messages with these absolutely clever optometry versions of the game.
1. This is Contact Lens 101. If you can’t pass this, what else are you overlooking? I give it a 6.
2. And this is Contact Lens 102. 5/10. Some call me harsh.
3. I’m going with a 5 here.
4. No, I oddly didn’t get your pressures when you blinked and pulled back from the NCT. Sounds like a classic 8.
5. Oh boy. She sounds like an average 7! Thoughts?
6. At least there’s consistency, right? No? 6/10 for me.
7. On the flip side, there are circumstances that opt for higher ranking points. We love a responsible contact lens user. 7!
8. She’s automatically a 6. Nope.
9. But this one depends. Did he opt for dilation instead? Then I’d stay at 10. Neither dilation nor OptoMap? 7.
10. Easily a 3.
11. Only people in eyecare can understand the pain. 6.

12. Blasphemy in the optical world. I’d say a 6.

Would you rank the Optometry Edition a 10? If so, follow us on Instagram, Facebook and see the dozens of other examples on the Twitter page.
