(PRESS RELEASE) LEXINGTON, KY — The United Opticians Association (UOA) formally announced the appointment of Bob Alexander, ABOM, NCLEM as its Director of Education. With over a decade of experience in the optical industry, including significant roles with Hoya and Maui Jim, two well-known eye care brands, Bob brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to UOA.

With an Associate of Applied Science in Opticianry, master designations from both the ABO and NCLE and experience as a Spectacle-Contact Lens Licensed Optician in his home state of Ohio, Bob is committed to enhancing educational initiatives and resources that will benefit opticians across the country and internationally. His passion for eye care and dedication to professional development will be instrumental in advancing UOA’s mission to support and empower its 39,000+ members.

A wellness advocate and avid ultramarathon runner, Bob enjoys spending time with his wife, Kim, their children, grandchild, and pets. He is passionate about community and looks forward to further connecting with UOA members and stakeholders in his role.
