(PRESS RELEASE) SPRINGFIELD, OR — Valley Contax, Inc. has announced it will include Juneteenth as a paid holiday for its staff members in honor of a day marked in history by the end of the Civil War and the beginning of Freedom Day for all African Americans.
Valley Contax, Inc. is recognizing such an important day in history and now observed by 48 states as a national holiday since the Oregon House voted to make Juneteenth a state holiday on April 9, 2021. “While this is an important day for many Black Americans, this is not a separate history; this is our history,” the Oregon House majority leader said on the House floor.
