(Press Release) Alexandria, VA — The Vision Council has announced the promotion of Greg Chavez to executive vice president, operations and membership.

“Greg has worked tirelessly on behalf of The Vision Council’s members over the past 13 years, ensuring that our organization listens to the needs of the industry and responds in-kind with the best possible resources for member companies,” said Ashley Mills, The Vision Council’s CEO. “Greg’s new role reflects the importance that we place on our members and member services, and allows us to identify operational efficiencies to create increased value for members.”

Chavez has evolved the organization’s market research programs into the leading source for industry information and data, and has positioned industry-wide standards development programs that led to The Vision Council being named as secretariat for the ANSI committee handling all ophthalmic standards. He has also repurposed the organization’s Government and Regulatory Affairs programs to clearly and effectively focus on the business needs and interests of the wholesale, supply side of the optical industry.
