Vision Expo Reimagined

The Vision Council has reimagined Vision Expo for 2020. With the show’s co-owner, Reed Exhibitions, they will focus on discovery, connection and experience. Refreshed branding, including redesigned logos and tagline — “The Future, Clearly” — along with curated neighborhoods that “optimize the connection between sellers and buyers” will make their debut at the Javits Center in NYC from March 26–29. The first phase will debut three new neighborhoods: The River for design-driven artisanal products, The Union for boutique and premium independent brands, and The Springs, an incubator zone for emerging talent. east.visionexpo.com

Concussions and Women

Little is known about the effects of traumatic brain injuries, such as concussions, on women, because the majority of studies have focused on men. However, one study shows that women athletes are 50 percent more likely than male athletes to have a sports-related concussion. Unfortunately, regardless of gender, for most concussion patients, visual problems are often overlooked during the initial evaluation. To address this, the non-profit NORA and PINK Concussions has developed a new educational resource, “Women and Concussions,” that provides some helpful information on why concussions might affect women differently than men. noravisionrehab.org
