VSP Global Announces Executive Appointments

(PRESS RELEASE) RANCHO CORDOVA, CA — VSP Global announced the appointments of Earnie Franklin as chief technology officer, and Alec Mahmood as chief financial officer. Franklin and Mahmood will report to Michael Guyette, VSP Global’s president and CEO.

“I am thrilled to welcome these two phenomenal leaders to our team,” said Guyette. “Earnie and Alec bring with them deep healthcare expertise that will help further strengthen and accelerate our organization’s focus on expanding access to eye care and eyewear.”

Franklin joins VSP Global from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and technology and is skilled in helping connect technology outcomes with organizational strategies. Franklin’s experience in healthcare technology spans core business capability platforms to front office and customer relationship management tools. He led IT and information security efforts for Triserv Alliance LLC, a startup focused on helping healthcare companies bid on Tricare contracts, and was instrumental at leading growth strategy at Incepture, a former wholly owned subsidiary of Florida Blue that provided healthcare staffing, consulting and managed solutions. Mahmood has more than two decades of experience in healthcare finance in a variety of organizations, from publicly held organizations to private equity firms. Most recently, Mahmood worked for Prime Therapeutics, a pharmacy benefit management company, with responsibilities spanning across finance, strategy and cost-of-care management. He served as CFO for some of the nation’s largest managed care companies, such as Health Net and Coventry Health, as well as leadership roles working with some of the largest private equity firms in the U.S., including Blackstone and Goldman Sachs. He holds a master’s degree in health administration from University of Southern California and was recognized as CFO of the year by the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal in 2017.
