VSP Optics Group has entered into a licensing agreement with Sharper Image that will provide the exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute optical-related products under the Sharper Image brand.
This is the first licensed brand for VSP Optics Group and is consistent with VSP’s goal to lead in new product technologies, production processes and innovative supply chain solutions.
“Too often our industry has mistaken complexity for technology. Studies have shown that consumers get lost in this information quagmire and lose sight of the value of their choices,” said Don Oakley, president of VSP Optics Group. “Through our relationship with Sharper Image, we expect to create a new paradigm where simple, high-technology vision systems connect consumer value and the practitioners who service them.”
Sharper Image branded optical products will be available to consumers first through eye care professionals this year and later through multiple channels. The first product to market will be a progressive lens with unique technology features that align with the Sharper Image brand. Together, Sharper Image and VSP Optics Group will develop new products to enhance the lifestyle of today’s consumers.
