  • My fearless prediction: Q1 will be a bit “off” but by the second half of the year things will be strong! — James W., Lilburn, GA
  • We had a down year in 2022, not at all our norm… We moved twice, lost staff, were shorthanded, etc. So we’re ready to have an amazing 2023. And I look forward to every issue of your magazine! — Susan K., Phoenix, AZ
  • I’m looking forward to seeing my colleagues at the 100th SECO meeting in Atlanta in March 2023. I’ve been attending this meeting for the past 35 years. — Robert E., Oakland Park, FL
  • This will be a year of trying to find a balance between maintaining the highest possible standards but keeping costs and overhead down. — Steve B., Milwaukee, WI
  • As costs from vendors continue to grow, we need ways to compete with online sales, leverage our best discounts and support independent optometry/opticianry. — Annette P., Allen Park, MI
  • With the economic downturn and inflation we’re just hoping to maintain. — Jennifer L., Dansville, NY
  • I think 2023 is going to be challenging as we see patients hold on to their money a bit more (I saw this starting toward the end of 2022 and definitely carrying into 2023) while our operating costs go up. It will take constant vigilance, evaluation, and creativity to ensure we are still recommending what is best for our patients while at the same time being cognizant that we may need to offer value options at times. 2023 I believe is going to require a lot of adaptability. — Amber Fritsch, OD, Precision Eye Care, Mt. Juliet, TN
