De Rigo Rem Names Senior Creative Director

(PRESS RELEASE) SUN VALLEY, CA – De Rigo REM announces the appointment of Tatiana De Arruda Penteado as its senior creative director. In this elevated role, Penteado will report to De Rigo REM’s vice president of business development, Jim Sepanek, and will lend her international experience to enhance the strategic direction of design and product as well as contribute to all creative aspects for the company.

Penteado will oversee the development for all of REM’s licensed collections in the U.S., including Converse, John Varvatos, Lucky Brand and Jones New York. Working closely with the creative and product departments both locally as well as internationally, she will intertwine her artistic lens with the DNA of each individual brand to deliver innovative product with a strong attention to detail. As a seasoned designer, Penteado will also add her unique capabilities in CAD and technical product drawing to help improve the speed and efficiency of the overall product cycle in-house.

“The appointment of Tatiana marks a significant milestone for the next chapter of De Rigo REM. She has an incredible pulse on the eyewear market and her depth and breadth of experience on a global scale will be a vital asset to the business both domestically as well as internationally,” said Michele Aracri, CEO of De Rigo S.p.A. “She has made extraordinary contributions to each brand she has touched in the past and I am thrilled to welcome her onboard as a key member of the team as she further accelerates the company’s image and its product collections into the future.”

With over 12 years of experience in the eyewear industry, Penteado brings extensive knowledge to De Rigo REM, employing creative leadership and design direction for a multitude of high profile fashion brands ranging from luxury to accessible price points. Getting her start in Italy as an eyewear designer for Marchon in 2006, she continued to hone her expertise at Safilo S.p.A where she was responsible for cultivating best-selling collections for the group’s diverse portfolio including Bottega Veneta, Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger before moving to their USA division in 2012. Most recently, she served as a senior member of Safilo’s design team in New York, where she has played an integral role in supervising the global development for brands such as Rebecca Minkoff, Kate Spade, Fossil and Bobby Brown.

“I’m very honored to be joining the talented creative and product departments at De Rigo REM. I have always been admirable of the company and its iconic brand portfolio,” said Penteado. “Applying my international skill set, I look forward to working closely with the licenses as well as collaborating with the teams in Italy and in LA to capture the brand’s core values and translate them into award-winning eyewear collections that resonate with the modern customer.”
