Grants Available for Students, Residents to Attend NORA Clinical Skills Pre-Conference and Annual General Conference

(PRESS RELEASE) MANALAPAN, NJ – The Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, International (NORA) announced it is offering up to 10 students and residents with an interest in neuro-rehabilitation an opportunity to apply for a student grant to attend the organization’s Clinical Skills Pre-Conference (September 20-21) and 27th annual General Conference (September 21-23) at the Hyatt Regency in St. Louis, MO.

Each grant recipient will receive full conference registration, including tickets to the meeting luncheon and evening banquet, and $300 in travel grant funds. Grant recipients will be required to arrange for their own lodging but can take advantage of a special conference room rate offered by the Hyatt Regency.

To be eligible for the grant program, recipients must attend the full meeting beginning with registration on Wednesday, September 19 through the meeting’s close on Sunday, September 23rd. Grant recipients will be assigned duties throughout the meeting, including assisting at the registration desk and stamping CE forms after lectures.

“NORA is committed to advancing professional knowledge and understanding of Neuro-Optometric care,” says Carl Garbus, O.D., NORA Student Programs Committee Chairman. “Through our Student/Resident Grant program, we are pleased to provide educational support to the next generation of professionals to help improve patient care,” he adds.

To apply for the grant, students/residents must fill out an application on the NORA website, www.noravisionrehab.org, which includes a 1-3 page essay/paper discussing their interest in neuro-optometric rehabilitation. “This essay should be a demonstration of your interest in this area and not a research paper or listing of your courses,” explains Dr. Garbus.   The deadline for submission of an application is August 1, 2018. Winners will be notified by August 15, 2018.
