Independent Optometrists Join Vision Source at Record Pace

(Press Release)
North America’s largest independent optometric service alliance, Vision Source, continues to grow rapidly and is now on pace to set a record for the number of practices joining its network in 2015.

In July alone, 34 members joined Vision Source, bringing the year-to-date number to 224 new members, a 47% increase over the same time period last year. Comparatively, 224 new members joined in all of 2011, 192 in 2010 and 222 in 2009. Vision Source currently has nearly 4,000 members nationwide.

This growth further confirms that Vision Source is the nation’s leading optometric alliance. When optometrists join Vision Source, they secure a stronger position in the industry and are provided a vast array of resources.

Practice management, consultative real estate and marketing services, continuing education and the buying power of a large network are some of the many benefits that Vision Source offers.

Additionally, members continue to benefit from dozens of established and emerging relationships with integrated health
care systems throughout the nation. This powerful combination is leveraged by members to source new patients, enhance the patient experience and create a more profitable independent practice.

Jim Greenwood, President and CEO of Vision Source commented, “As Vision Source approaches its 25thyear anniversary, we are experiencing many significant milestones. In June, for the 2nd consecutive year, we were named the 2nd largest optical retailer by Vision Monday.

“Last week, the announcement of the pending Essilor transaction sent a strong message of the expected growth in years to come. I interpret the accelerating growth as confirmation that we are delivering the solutions that independent optometrists need to optimize their results.

“As an organization, we have been proactive by expanding our resources to ensure that our valued members stay ahead of the curve and are provided with the tools needed to continue to remain independent in an evolving health care system.”
