Shamir Provides COVID-19 Update

Shamir Insight Inc. announced several updates in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

On March 31 the company announced that, as of April 1, more than 75 percent of its workforce would observe a reduced operating schedule.

“Protecting our employees’ jobs and safety is paramount, and we made a very challenging decision to implement a temporary workforce reduction initiative, in order to preserve the health and wellbeing of our employees and the company,” Shamir CEO Raanan Naftalovich wrote in a letter to ECPs.

He added: “Shamir is optimistic that normality will resume in the near future, and we will be monitoring
the situation on a daily basis to re-engage our workforce and restart normal operating responsibilities.”

The company said it’s focused on maintaining continuity in these core units:

  • Customer Service
  • Supply Chain and Logistics
  • Online Education and Webinars
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Information Technology
  • Executive Leadership and Escalation Teams

The company has developed a dedicated response team designed to field customer questions, concerns, and orders. It has developed Siiresponseteam@shamirlens.com along with its customer service line (877-514-8330) and technical support line (888-370-0736) and e-mail (Technical@shamirlens.com) to offer more immediate attention to customers.

Shamir’s core business continuity group ensures there is a proper workflow for customer orders. This group consists of the departments necessary to keep business processes flowing.

Access to Shamir designs through Prescriptor remains fully operational, and Shamir blanks inventory is available and stocked for normal sales volumes to labs.

There is a continued focus on the R&D pipeline in Israel to ensure product innovation ideas come to fruition that help the company’s lab partners and ECP customers rebuild their businesses.

Many of Shamir’s marketing channels feature the phrase “Committed to Caring, Together as One.” This appropriate theme promotes unity during this difficult time and acknowledges Shamir’s commitment of caring for people.
