To emphasize its commitment toward advancing professional knowledge and understanding of Neuro-Optometric care and encouraging strong working relationships among professionals that are built on mutual respect of each other’s skill sets, this year’s conference theme is Education. Collaboration. Rehabilitation. – Achieving Favorable Outcomes Through Interdisciplinary Care.

Key opinion leaders from optometry and other specialties will offer a combination of hands-on and lecture style continuing education presentations for professionals who provide rehabilitative services to individuals who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Additionally, two-time Major League Soccer All-Star Alecko Eskandarian will be the key note speaker at NORA’s Awards dinner.

To apply for the grant, students/residents must fill out an application form (https://noravisionrehab.org/about-nora/news/student-resident-grants-available-nora-conference), which includes a one-to-three-page essay/paper discussing their interest in neuro-rehabilitation and/or the values and principles of working as an interdisciplinary team with other professionals who provide rehabilitative services to individuals who have suffered an acquired brain injury.

The application form should be sent to NORAAwards@gmail.com. The deadline for submission is July 15, 2019. Winners will be notified by August 1, 2019.

To be eligible for the grant program, recipients must attend the full meeting beginning with registration on Wednesday, September 18 through the meeting’s close on Sunday, September 22nd. Grant recipients will have the opportunity to attend presentations in addition to being assigned duties throughout the meeting.

NORA membership is free to students currently enrolled in a certified college of optometry, allied health profession, education, and rehabilitation program or in an optometric residency or a fellowship program. “We encourage students/residents from Optometry, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and other specialties to join NORA and apply for the grant,” says NORA president Susan Daniel, OD.
