ABB Optical Group Launches Patient Outreach and Virtual Trade Show Programs

(PRESS RELEASE) CORAL SPRINGS, FL — ABB Optical Group, a leading national provider of optical products and business solutions for the eye care industry, announced two initiatives to assist eye care professionals (ECPs) during this time of heightened health concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

The company will be launching a free patient outreach program designed for practices to connect with patients and inform them of direct doctor-to-patient shipping options, a service provided by ABB Optical Group. ECPs can download the toolkit, which contains social engagement posts, e-mail communications and signage informing patients that, without even coming into the office, they can place their contact lens orders through their eye care practice and receive their shipment at home. ABB Optical Group customers will receive an e-mail with information about the patient outreach program and instructions on how to access the toolkit.

“During this time of elevated health concerns, we’re seeing that ECPs have patients who may be hesitant to schedule an eye exam or visit a practice to pick up their contact lenses,” said ABB Optical Group Chief Executive Officer Tom Burke. “Now is a critical time for ECPs to maintain their patient relationships by understanding their hesitations regarding visiting a doctor’s office, and by providing them with a solution that shows their health and well-being is of paramount concern. Our direct-to-patient shipping option is a meaningful solution as we navigate through these uncertain times.”

ABB Optical Group is also hosting a Virtual Trade Show March 23-27, in lieu of the recent cancelation of Vision Expo East in New York. The online event will feature free daily webinars, hosted by subject matter experts and industry leaders, and focused on products, services and solutions intended to help ECPs optimize their business and better serve their patients, both now and in the future.

“Although we understand the need to cancel events where groups of people gather, we at ABB Optical Group believe that our commitment to our customers, especially during this time, is very important,” said Burke. “Our expert-led Virtual Trade Show webinars are designed to bring important information directly to participants’ computer screens allowing them to engage with their peers differently.”
