All the World’s a Stage for Las Vegas Optometrist

Optics and rock and roll: “It’s all the same thing.”

Dr. Edward Malik’s Eyes & Optics shop in Summerlin, NV features stage truss lighting overhead, black stage curtains and nightclub-worthy speakers playing hip songs. “I wanted it to look like a stage,” says Malik, whose patients have included Elton John, Celine Dion and members of The Commodores. He is also a dedicated musician himself, a drummer for a local rock band called The Melancholics. “To me, optics, sunglasses, eyeglasses, rock and roll — it’s all the same thing.”
