AOSA Names Executive Director

She brings more than 10 years of nonprofit development experience.

(Press Release) ST. LOUIS, MO — The American Optometric Student Association has named Rebecca Hildebrand, MSW, to the role of executive director to manage operations and oversee the organization’s mission. AOSA is committed to promoting the optometric profession, enhancing the education and welfare of optometry students, and well as enhancing the vision and ocular health of the public.

The AOSA, which represents more than 6,600 optometric students from 24 colleges of optometry in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, works to build student advocates in partnership with the American Optometric Association and its state associations.

Hildebrand, who joined Optometry Cares—The AOA Foundation in 2012, was previously its director, and brings more than 10 years of nonprofit development experience. She completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago, receiving her bachelor’s degree in social work and business. Hildebrand went on to receive her master of social work, leadership and development in social services, and her certificate of philanthropy and non-profit management from Loyola University Chicago.
