ClearVision Optical Continues to Give Back with Several New Donations

(PRESS RELEASE) HAUPPAUGE, NY – With many communities across the U.S. requesting donations and assistance for those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including our own local community here in New York, ClearVision Optical’s CVO Cares committee has rallied together to organize donations for several Long Island-based charities in recent weeks.

As an internal committee at ClearVision Optical, the CVO Cares group meets regularly to discuss where ClearVision’s charitable efforts can best be used in order to help customers, friends within the industry, or the communities we operate in across the United States. The goal is always the same, provide assistance however we can, as ClearVision’s late founder, Fred Friedfeld did throughout his career, and would have done today.

In order to provide support and relief to our local Long Island community, the CVO Cares committee organized several noteworthy donations this summer:

All Hands and Hearts

All Hands and Hearts effectively and efficiently addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters. Through community and volunteer engagement, the organization focuses on helping families recover faster after these catastrophic events.

ClearVision has supported All Hands and Hearts in years past by donating funds for national hurricane and fire relief efforts. This summer, ClearVision was able to donate 470 cotton face masks to be used as personal protective equipment by volunteers assisting with the Covid-19 pandemic. www.allhandsandhearts.org

Family Service League

The Family Service League is a grass roots social service agency that delivers support and security to over 50,000 Long Islanders in need by providing shelter, food, elder care, substance abuse, counseling and more.
In order to generate much needed funding, FSL will be hosting an online auction this fall, and ClearVision will be donating two raffle baskets filled with several pieces of eyewear, swag and other merchandise. www.fsl-li.org

Hauppauge Industrial Association

The HIA-LI provides a forum for business leaders on Long Island to network, problem solve and obtain advice on critical issues facing their businesses. The non-profit organization supports many local businesses through programs and events that promote strategic partnerships, educational opportunities, targeted networking, information sharing and advocacy.

In order to help generate donations for the HIA’s 41st annual golf outing this summer, ClearVision Optical generously donated 160 sunglasses that were used in attendee gift bags. www.hia-li.org

Long Island Cares

LI Cares, a local non-profit organization that provides hunger assistance and serves thousands of individuals and families in need on Long Island, contacted the ClearVision team in the spring, requesting much-needed donations to help replenish local food pantries.

ClearVision’s home office team began collecting school supplies and food, and was able to secure 173 school supplies and 63 non-perishable food items to donate. www.licares.org

Moxxie Mentoring Foundation

ClearVision has been a contributor to the Moxxie Mentoring Foundation for several years now, working in tandem to encourage and promote women’s leadership within ClearVision as well as on Long Island. The New York-based non-profit aims to support and foster the career advancement and leadership development of young women through generational mentoring.

In order to help support the organization’s largest annual fundraising event, ClearVision facilitated the donation of 300 purple cotton fabric face masks, designed to commemorate the event’s annual Purple Pump Awards, given to outstanding mentors and mentees within the Moxxie Mentoring Foundation. Masks will be included in the inspiration boxes that will be mailed to attendees. www.moxxiementoring.org
