Confronted with a Creepy Crawly and This ECP Didn’t Even Bat an Eye

When i did vision therapy, I was doing Randot with a young patient while training another therapist. Next to the computer was a board with thumbtacks. I was watching the patient as he worked, but out of the corner of my eye I noticed something attached to a thumbtack. I shrugged it off and kept working with the patient and trainee. When I thought they had it in hand, I looked to see what was on the thumbtack… It was a bat! It was hanging from the thumbtack. The trainee saw the color drain from my face and took over and ended the session. I excused myself — calmly for the child’s sake — and found someone to remove the bat.
