Eco Ocean Beach Clean-Up for the World Ocean Day

(PRESS RELEASE) In celebration of World Ocean Day on June 8th, Eco has started the Eco Ocean beach clean-up initiative. So far, it has been to beaches in NYC, Miami, and Orange County — will yours be next? It’s inspired to see so many happy people at its clean-ups, ready to help keep the oceans clean. The Eco wave is picking up speed and spreading across the world.

Eco is having a lot of fun and love meeting so many smiling faces that want to pitch in and do something great for the planet. Eco is thankful that its Eco Family is ready and willing to jump in and help collect litter from our beaches, making them more pleasant and safer for everyone. Beach clean-ups also improve the coastal and ocean ecosystem, keeping trash and plastics away from marine life.

“I’ve lived in Brooklyn for 10 years and love this city so much. It was great to help the community and clean up the beaches that we all love to visit every summer. Thankful for Eco for putting this beach clean-up together. Can’t wait for the next one.” — Volunteer Amanda Dombrowski

The Eco Ocean frames are made from recycled ocean based plastics. Because plastic has no place in the ocean. Eco works with local fishermen who collect used plastic fishing nets, ropes, and trawls. These items then get checked, cleaned, cut, dried, and prepped. After that they get extruded into the plastic granules that become Eco’s lightweight and comfortable Eco Ocean frames.

Making a difference starts with making better choices, and that’s why Eco made it its mission to use recycled metal, castor seed oil, and ocean based plastics in its frames. And last but not least — all its cases and packaging are of course made from sustainable materials like cornstarch and recycled PET.

Do you want to join the wave and organize your own Eco Ocean beach clean-up? Contact us and we’ll get you started today.
