Edward S. Kornreich

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK – Edward S. Kornreich has joined the Board of Directors of Lighthouse Guild, the leading not-for-profit vision and healthcare organization. As the past long-standing chair of the Health Care Department of Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm, and as past chair of the Health Law Section and Health Law Committee, respectively, of the New York State and New York City Bar Associations, Mr. Kornreich is a recognized authority on the legal, regulatory, and business issues related to health care services. “Edward’s expertise, guidance and experience will be invaluable as we further our mission of providing exceptional services to our clients and people who are visually impaired worldwide,” said James M. Dubin, Chairman of the Board of Lighthouse Guild. “We thank him for his leadership and look forward to working with him to help people with vision loss access the services and technology they need to lead the lives they aspire to.”

Over the course of his career with Proskauer, Mr. Kornreich worked primarily on healthcare transactions, regulatory compliance, healthcare payment, and governance issues for varied providers (both for-profit and not-for-profit), vendors, GPOs, distributors, and entrepreneurs. He was previously with Legal Aid Society, after which he entered private practice, where he helped represent a major public hospital corporation in a series of reimbursement disputes with the state and federal governments and counseled New York area hospitals and nursing homes on reimbursement and operational issues. Following that, he served as General Counsel of St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, one of the largest teaching hospitals in New York. After leaving St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, he joined Proskauer as a Partner in 1990.

I am proud to have been given this opportunity to serve with Board Chair Jim Dubin, CEO Dr. Cal Roberts and the entire Lighthouse Guild community.”
