Envision University Sets Agenda for In-Person Spring 2023 Conference

(PRESS RELEASE)WICHITA, KS — Organizers of the Envision Conference through Envision University have set the agenda for Envision Conference West with outstanding sessions and opportunities for professionals in the vision rehabilitation field. The conference will be held in collaboration with UT Health Department of Occupational Therapy on March 30 – April 1, 2023, at the Academic Learning and Teaching Center of UT Health in San Antonio, Texas. Envision Conference is the only multidisciplinary conference with the goal of closing practice gaps and disseminating the latest advancements in rehabilitation techniques, research and technology.

Early bird registration ends February 28. Both submissions and participant registrations with discounted early registration rates can be made through the Envision Conference website here.

The two-day schedule of clinical education and research presentations will address topics covering a wide range of specialties, including Optometry, Occupational Therapy, vision scientists, genetics, Neurology and other areas. Highlights include:

  • Managing Homonymous Hemianopsia after ABI: Two Case Presentations, with Sandra Fox, OD; Sara Barnard, TVI, COMS, CLVT; and Tracy Floyd, OT, from the Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center at the Audie Murphy VA in San Antonio
  • Role of Head Mounted Augmented Reality Device in Improving Visual Function of Individuals with Low Vision, Sarika Gopalakrishnan, PhD, FAAO, of the Envision Research Institute

“The sessions and presentations for this year’s Envision Conference West are ones that we’re really looking forward to hosting – and we’re excited to be collaborating with UT Health Department of Occupational Therapy,” said Michael Epp, Envision’s manager of professional education. “The multi-faceted conference fosters conversations and information sharing among low vision professionals and specialists in a variety of related fields from across the world, ultimately raising the bar for care that will help so many confronted by vision issues and other related and unrelated challenges.”

All education and research sessions offer the opportunity to earn continuing education credits from agencies such as:

  • The Council on Optometric Practitioner Education (COPE)
  • American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP)
