Eyewear Boutique Recovering After $20K Theft

Thieves took about $20,000 in eyewear from Lakeview Eye Boutique in Chicago, NBC Chicago reports.

Dr. Joanna Slusky posted on Facebook that the crime took place at 5:34 a.m. and was captured on video. She wrote that her window was shattered, display cabinets were damaged and 150 pieces of eyewear were taken, including brands such as Dita, Tom Ford and Christian Roth.

Three iPads and a laptop computer were also taken.

“The scariest part is that I sometimes get to the office around 5:30 a.m. to catch up on patient charts, and I could have been inside while they broke in,” Slusky added.

No one was injured.

Slusky wrote: “And YES, WE ARE OPEN to continue to care for our patients during this challenging time. Thank you so much for your help, support, and understanding during this transition.”

Police are still investigating the crime.
