Here’s How Eyecare Careers Stack Up to Other Jobs

It’s good to be an ECP.

If you’re an optometrist, you have one of the better jobs in America, according to a new report from CareerCast.com.

The site puts optometrist at No. 18 on the list. The work environment rates as “good,” while the stress is “low” and the projected growth is “very good.”

Optometrists earn a median salary of $101,360, according to CareerCast.com.

Further down the “Jobs Rated” list is optician, at No. 42. It has a “good” work environment, “low” stress and “very good” projected growth, along with a median salary is $34,250.

Ranking at No. 1 on the 200-job list is data scientist. In dead last place is newspaper reporter.
