ATTACK OF THE MUTANT T-SHIRT

➤ No, INVISION hasn’t suddenly decided to offer XXXXXXL-sized “Eye Geek” shirts with triple-neckhole option. (But we’ll definitely think about it.) This is just the fun folks at Marco Ophthalmic Equipment — Christine Van Assche, Susan Manier and Stephanie Marino — showing their enthusiasm for the concept of our magazine’s Brain Squad. Brilliant … and weird! (To join the Brain Squad, and get your own regulation T-shirt, go to: invmag.us/brainsquad.)

WE DARE YOU

I especially liked the feature on risk takers (from the January issue; read it at invmag.us/dare). Everything from switching careers to switching states to changing locations to a bigger store. Rick Rickgauer, Vision Associates, Girard, PA

I enjoyed the Risky Business section. It’s something all ECPs need to read. Jeff Grosekemper, Casa de Oro Eyecare, Spring Valley, CA

INDIE SPIRIT

INVISION can set itself apart from the many other optical trade magazines if it tries to feature independent frame lines, innovative opticals, new designers and so on. The more you give in to the same tired big box frame lines, chain stores and low-end product, the more you resemble the others. To build my business, I want to know about the movers and the shakers and the newest and coolest. Paula Hornbeck, Eye Candy/Eye Candy Kids, Delafield, WI

Just received Valentine issue. Didn’t even open it yet. Gotta say: Your covers (and layout) — not to mention info — are just stellar. Kudos! Steve Whitaker, Whitaker Eye Works, Wayne, PA

REQUESTS FILE

I am getting a lot out of your magazine. The more information you can share on how others are running their offices, the better. What about getting ideas of how people manage insurance billing and tracking, good clearinghouses and collection agencies? Besides being the buyer and stylist, I am also the office manager and I keep the website and our online reputation up to date. Sometimes wearing too many hats leaves you with very little time to swim through all of the available options. Tuli Santiago, Dr. Dawn Arnold, Union, NJ
