Longtime Eyewear Exec Dies at Age 70

He most recently worked for Safilo.

Ira Greenhouse, an eyewear inustry veteran who most recently headed up special sales for Safilo USA, has died, Accessories Magazine reports.

He was 70, according to an obituary posted at the website of Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York.

Greenhouse worked at Safilo from 1995 through 2017 and was a board member of the Accessories Council, according to Accessories Magazine. His career included stints at several other companies, including Colors in Optics and Rennaissance Eyewear.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Mark Ugenti, senior vice president of Safilo, told Accessories Magazine that Greenhouse “was loved by all who crossed his path.”
