Charmant USA Names CEO and President

Masato Nakagaichi

(PRESS RELEASE) MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — CHARMANT, the provider of high-quality, high-comfort eyewear, has just announced the promotion of Masato Nakagaichi to president and CEO of CHARMANT USA.

Masakiyo Honjo, president & CEO of CHARMANT USA was promoted to group president & CEO in March 2020 and returned to the Group’s Headquarters in Sabae, Japan. Nakagaichi was then promoted to executive vice president and has been responsible for the daily operating performance of the US subsidiary which includes finance, strategic sales planning, and analysis. Prior to that, he served the previous 3 years as director of Corporate Planning and has been stationed in the US office working directly with the US management team. He has worked for CHARMANT Group for over 25 years in various positions including sales manager for Export Sales, and prior to that was the sales support manager responsible for wholesale business covering Germany, France, and the UK.

Honjo stated “Nakagaichi is a proven strategic leader whose depth of experience has greatly resulted in a solid foundation for CHARMANT USA. I expect Masato along with the US executive management team to continue to build upon and grow CHARMANT USA”.

Nakagaichi commented, “I am excited on my new assignment here in the US, I look forward to working with the management team we have in place to further strengthen CHARMANT’s position in the US.”

The CHARMANT USA subsidiary is celebrating its 40th Anniversary in the USA. The Group was founded in 1956 by Kaoru Horikawa, Group Chairman and is known worldwide for their high quality, innovative technologies in frame manufacturing.
