Mobile Vision Clinic Totaled in Crash, Leaving Thousands of Kids Without Eyecare

The charity hopes to buy a new van.

A mobile vision clinic in St. Louis was recently totaled in an accident, leaving thousands of children in the area without eyecare.

KTVI reports that over 50 schools are waiting for care from the mobile clinic. But Eye Care Charity of Mid-America, which didn’t own the van, has no way to reach them.

The organization is now trying to raise money to get a van of its own and get back on the road.

The clinic “allows students to walk into a vehicle for an eye exam, pick out frames and then wait about 20 minutes for their new pair of glasses.”
