OneSight Launches Campaign to Give 20M People Access to Glasses

(PRESS RELEASE) CINCINNATI, OH – OneSight, the global vision care non-profit founded and sponsored by Luxottica, launched its “Victory is in Sight” campaign.  It is its biggest and boldest campaign for access to vision care ever launched.

“1 in 7 people in the world cannot see clearly, because they lack access to eye exams and glasses,” said Mony Iyer, President and Executive Director at OneSight.  “Glasses do so much more than give clear sight. They help fight illiteracy.  They help combat poverty. They help resist inequality. At OneSight, we believe that the fight for access to vision care is the fight for human potential.”

The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about the powerful difference a simple pair of glasses can make.  The campaign invites individuals and organizations to go to onesight.org/act and get involved.

“What is inspiring about OneSight work is that solutions exist,” said Shawnta Buckner, Senior Director at OneSight.  “Vision Care clinics allow us to meet immediate needs and Sustainable Vision Centers establish a permanent place for people to go and receive affordable eye care for generations to come.”

“Victory is in Sight” is a fully integrated campaign that will run in print, out-of-home, online and in cinema in NCM’s Noovie pre-show.  The campaign will expand into over a thousand retail stores in the US, thanks to the support of Luxottica, OneSight global founding sponsor who is supporting the campaign by engaging its brands, employees and customers around the world.

The campaign centers on a 30-second “Victory is in Sight” video that demonstrates how OneSight is helping people live to their potential.   This video is supported by shorter 15-second Personal Victory videos that tell individual stories. The campaign has been developed in partnership with creative agency Truth Collective and media partner Canvas Worldwide. All of the people featured in the campaign are people whose lives have been impacted by OneSight work in communities in the US and around the world.

Alongside the campaign, OneSight will be hosting a series of Vision Care Clinics in the following US cities: San Diego, California; Cincinnati, Ohio; Duluth, Georgia; Kansas City, Missouri; Washington, D.C., and Charlotte, North Carolina.

These clinics help children like kindergartener Adan from Delano, California who was falling behind in school until he got his “magic glasses” at a OneSight Clinic.

To make it easy for people to join the “Victory is in Sight” campaign, OneSight has launched a new website giving people a way to get involved and immediately see their impact.
