Online Eyewear Retailer Pleads Guilty to Fraud

He’s the operator of OpticsFast.com.

Vitaly Borker, operator of online retailer OpticsFast.com, has pleaded guilty to fraud and conspiracy, The Associated Press reports.

He’s scheduled for sentencing in May in federal court. The prosecution is requesting that Borker spend as long as five years behind bars, AP reports.

It wouldn’t be Borker’s first stint in prison.

The New York Times reported that he spent three-and-a-half years in prison “for threatening to stalk, maim and murder customers of his online eyeglass store, DecorMyEyes.” He was convicted of fraud, AP explains.

Last month, Borker was handed a two-year prison sentence after U.S. District Judge Richard J. Sullivan said he violated probation after his 2015 release from prison. He allegedly failed to be honest with officers, making it appear he was no longer involved in selling eyewear on the internet, according to AP.
