Optometrist Is Top Healthcare Job in US, Indeed Says

It’s seventh-best role overall.

Optometrist ranks No. 7 on Indeed’s new list of the best jobs in the U.S. for 2018.

It’s the highest-ranking health care role on the list.

To compile its ranking, Indeed focused on salary (jobs with a baseline salary of at least $75,000) and abundance of opportunity (jobs which have seen the most growth on Indeed since 2014).

Optometrist had an average base salary of $131,692 and 118 percent growth in job postings from 2014 to 2017.

Other high-ranking healthcare jobs include staff pharmacist at No. 16, senior clinical specialist at No. 22 and registered nurses with a specialization in infusion at No. 24. 

The top job overall, according to Indeed, is commercial project manager, with average salary of $81,023 and job-posting growth of 277 percent.
