Philipp Plein and De Rigo Announce License Agreement

(PRESS RELEASE) The Philipp Plein Group and the De Rigo Group – world leaders in the eyewear industry – announce a license agreement for the creation, production and distribution on a global scale of both sunglasses and prescription frames.

The coming together of these two leading international fashion powerhouses has led to a partnership that will soon see the launch of eyewear collections combining the extraordinary technical savoir-faire and no-compromise quality of the De Rigo Group with the unmistakable aesthetics and strong and innovative style codes of the Philipp Plein brand.

“We are thrilled about this agreement with Philipp Plein and are eager to embark on this new adventure. Making our technical and research know-how available to a partner of such magnitude is a truly exciting challenge. We have no doubt that our expertise will merge seamlessly with the stylistic innovation and leading-edge creativity of Philipp Plein,”  says Michele Aracri, managing director of De Rigo Vision.

“There was a real affinity between Philipp Plein and De Rigo – a brand that I admire for its outstanding quality and production capacity – from the get-go. I’m confident that the distribution network that the De Rigo Group has spent decades establishing and their direct and far-reaching presence in the eyewear retail sector will be of great support, enabling the creations that we are currently working on to gain a foothold in the market. Expect the unexpected!” says Philipp Plein, CEO of the Philipp Plein Group.

The license takes effect immediately and the launch of the first collection is expected for the second half of 2021. The Philipp Plein eyewear collections will be distributed worldwide through the De Rigo sales network and in the brand’s boutique stores.
