SALT Welcomes Spring with Interactive Events

California based premium eyewear brand SALT launched its SEE.SALT series of events recently with a creative, interactive experience and photography exhibit at Dax Gallery in Costa Mesa, CA.

The evening showcased photography from Daniel Russo, Adam Bove and Meg Haywood Sullivan: three visual artists whose work has inspired the new collection, taking cues directly from the effortless beauty of nature: sea, air, land and their timeless connection.

The exhibit was an opportunity to engage with the brand, experience its aesthetic and meet the photographers who influenced SALT’s latest collection. Each SEE.SALT artist has a different style, with the common thread of individuality and authenticity, influenced by their respect for their local environment. The artists include:

  • Renowned surf photographer Daniel Russo from Oahu, HI, displayed images depicting the natural beauty of the sea.
  • Representing the air was Adam Bove, a filmmaker and photographer from Denver, CO, who channels the vast skies and colorful sunsets of his hometown throughout his work.
  • San Francisco-based Meg Haywood Sullivan, an outdoor lifestyle photographer and environmentalist, showed images inspired by the land; nature’s open spaces, grand landscapes and snow covered mountains.
  • Representing the “timeless” aspect of the brand, the evening supported A Walk on Water, a cause that provides water therapy through guided surf instruction to special needs children and their siblings.

“SEE.SALT is an occasion to engage with the talented artists who have provided the visual inspiration for our latest collection and the brand as a whole. Their creativity is literally the starting point for our C1 2015 designs.” says Aaron Behle, CEO of SALT.

The C1 2015 collection is inspired by nature’s beauty: Hawaii’s clear blue waves, Big Sur’s emerald-green coastline, Japan’s forested mountains and Palm Springs’ dusty expansive desert. Each of these locales helped to create a seasonal color palette for the 22 styles (nine unisex, seven for men, six for women), made up of 12 sunglasses and 10 eyeglasses.
