Sting Operation Busts Chinese Counterfeit Eyewear Maker in the Middle of a Trade Show

 

A co-owner was arrested right there on the showroom floor.

A Chinese counterfeit eyewear maker was the target of a successful sting operation carried about by the Dearborn and Ohio County Prosecutor at a trade show in Denver, CO, according to a report from Ammoland.com. The article says that Daniel Gong, the co-owner of Botai Optical Visor Co., was arrested on the floor of the SnowSports Industries America Snow Show after it was determined that the company was producing knock-off versions of a ballistic-protection goggle made by Revision Military. The CEO of Revision Military trumpeted his company’s zero-tolerance policy, pledging to prosecute the counterfeiters to the fullest extent of the law. Four people from the Chinese company are being charged with six felonies.
