These Optometrists Have an Idea to Stave Off the Online Vision Testing Trend

Optometrists in Wales, UK, have an idea that they hope will help stave off the trend toward online vision testing.

Optometry Wales wants the Welsh government to provide more funding so that everyone can receive free eye testing, the BBC reports.

The optometry group says many people are using online apps in order to save money. That means serious signs of disease could be missed.

“They give a fairly accurate refraction but they won’t screen for conditions,” said Sali Davis, CEO of Optometry Wales.
