Video: 3 Accused of Selling Counterfeit Contact Lenses in Los Angeles

Los Angeles police have arrested three women they say were selling counterfeit contact lenses.

They “face charges of furnishing prescription drugs without a license,” CBS Los Angeles reports.

The lenses were being sold at three store locations downtown.

The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement: “The purchase of counterfeit products may be hazardous to your health. In many instances counterfeit medical devices and cosmetic materials have been known to cause serious adverse reactions such as infections, facial paralysis, tissue death and blindness.”
