Video: Purported Details of ‘Apple Glass’ Product Leaked

A well-known Apple leaker has released purported details of “Apple Glass,” an augmented reality glasses project the company is said to be working on.

John Prosser of Front Page Tech claims that Apple is looking at a launch date of late 2021 or early 2022 for the long-awaited glasses, which will retail starting at $499. As MacRumors notes, the product will purportedly be available with prescription lenses at extra expense.

Both lenses will have displays, and users will be able to interact with them via gestures, Prosser says. There’s no camera, and the glasses will need to be paired with an iPhone, he adds.

Prosser says he saw a video of an Apple Glass prototype. The product did not have a camera.

One prominent Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo of TF Securities, has said that Apple’s AR glasses product will not launch until 2022 at the earliest, according to CNBC.

“Kuo believes that Apple’s glasses are years away, and will use a pricey laminated lens to display digital content overlaid on top of the real world,” CNBC reports.
