VSP Eyes of Hope and Prevent Blindness Renew Partnership

(PRESS RELEASE)RANCHO CORDOVA, CA — VSP Global announced its renewed partnership with Prevent Blindness, the nation’s oldest eye health and safety non-profit organization. The partnership includes a $125,000 grant to Prevent Blindness and other in-kind support, provided through VSP Eyes of Hope, valued at up to $1.5 million.

This year, VSP Eyes of Hope celebrates 25 years of providing no-cost eye care and eyewear to people in need, and Prevent Blindness is among the program’s longest-running partners.

“Prevent Blindness has been an essential partner in helping VSP bring vision care to more than 250,000 adults and children who wouldn’t otherwise have access,” said VSP Global president and CEO Michael Guyette. “We’re proud to continue this longstanding collaboration, which directly supports our purpose of empowering human potential through sight.”

“Prevent Blindness has declared 2022 the ‘Year of Children’s Vision’,” said Jeff Todd, president and CEO of Prevent Blindness. “Our continued work with VSP Eyes of Hope is one way we’re delivering on our promise to address a variety of children’s vision issues this year.”

Since 1999, Prevent Blindness and VSP Eyes of Hope have provided nearly 125,000 students in need with free vision care, valued at up to $48 million.

The ongoing partnership includes:

  • Distribution of VSP Eyes of Hope gift certificates to Prevent Blindness affiliates and individuals in need across the U.S.
  • Public awareness and education efforts through online, print, and social media efforts, like this one.
  • Funding for Prevent Blindness’ Vision Integration Library for healthcare, public health, and community service providers.
  • Sponsorship of Prevent Blindness events, such as the Person of Vision Award gala.
