Russell Westbrook’s Lensless Frames Began His Fashion Career

“I’m not a big follower,” says NBA star/style icon.

Bloomberg profiles NBA star Russell Westbrook’s evolution as a style icon, tracing its beginnings to his appearance at a press conference in lensless red specs. “(H)ere’s what happened next ­­– a ton of NBA players, and plenty of other people, too, started wearing lensless frames.” Says Westbrook: “I started wearing frames back in middle school,” he says. “I used to pick ’em out for $2 a pair at thrift stores around the neighborhood. I’ve always liked to curate my own look, go with what I like. I’m not a big follower.”
