Wiley X Donates More Than 30,000 Pieces of PPE to Battle COVID-19

(PRESS RELEASE) LIVERMORE, CA — Wiley X, the leading premium protective eyewear brand to various retail, safety and government markets, is hard at work creating and distributing personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. With more than 30 years of experience designing and manufacturing protective eyewear and equipment for United States military personnel, Wiley X is fast at work with donations locally and nationally to support those supporting us.

Veteran-founded and family-owned, Wiley X is working with John Marchand, Mayor of Livermore, CA, where the company is headquartered, to provide 10,000 KN95 masks for local distribution. These will be provided to local hospitals, law enforcement officers, fire personnel, and healthcare professionals.

Wiley X also works closely with eye care professionals across the country, providing prescription eyewear to their customers, and is donating 20,000 face shields to these practices to help support safe interaction with their patients. These face shields come equipped with a protective PET plastic shield with an anti-fog coating, elastic strap, and brow foam which allows a universal fit. Eye care professionals interested in receiving support from Wiley X that are not set up as a current dealer are advised to contact them via phone at 1-877-4WILEYX or email to opitcalcs@wileyx.com.

In addition to the donations, Wiley X is operational and actively taking orders for other PPE such as nitrile gloves, protective eyewear, protective goggles, face shields, and KN95 masks. Wiley X is also taking orders for their regular lines of protective eyewear on www.wileyx.com.

“We’re all in this together and love our community, including EMTs, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and essential city staff,” said Myles Freeman, president of sales and co-owner of Wiley X Inc. “We are also forever grateful for the loyal eye care professionals around the country who have helped us become a globally recognized eyewear and sunglass brand. We are honored to be able to give back to those working the front lines and have put themselves at risk providing such valuable services to our community.”
