Doctor Claims Laser-Resistant Eyewear for Pilots

Several choices are available for the $708 package.

A New York doctor and entrepreneur says his company has devised a special coating that can block the “dazzling” effect of lasers – a growing problem for airline pilots. The glasses “can be worn during the day, and if you flash a laser at me, I can see the laser, but it will not gave a dazzling effect at all,” says Dr. Nicholas Perricone, president of Connecticut-based Perriquest.
“By putting on these glasses, we can actually shade the light that appears from the laser to the eye,” says Chief Technology Officer Kristin Rauschenbach.
