Eco: A State of Mind

ECO: A STATE OF MIND

Making a difference starts with making better choices. That’s why Eco made it their mission to use recycled and biobased material in their frames. And together with Trees for the Future, they plant a tree for every frame sold. Because all big changes come in the form of many small ones!

Trees for the Future works together with villages and farmers in African nations including Cameroon, Tanzania, Kenya, and Senegal. For more than a decade, the nonprofit organization has improved the lives of these farmers and their families, supporting them in yielding better crops and securing a sustainable source of income.

Style, with purpose

Eco, which launched in 2008, celebrates sustainability with a range of materials.

Products are made from recycled or biobased materials and most optical frames have concealed magnets built in, so the polarized magnetic sun clip-on fits perfectly. A smart way to change your look in a snap.

Recycled

Experiment with your style and protect your eyes from the sun with the optical frame Bonaire, crafted from 95% recycled metal, and matching magnetic polarized clip-on. Now that’s a serious saving on natural resources.

International Honors

Along with Bonaire, this timeless style called Panama is part of the Eco FW19 Recycled metal collection that was awarded Gold distinction in the prestigious 2019 iF Design Awards.

Biobased

The Biobased frames are crafted using castor seed oil, making them lightweight, comfortable – and sustainable. And of course, the castor seed oil is certified organic by the USDA. Here is Arve, also with a magnetic clip-on.

An all-in lifestyle

The Eco promise isn’t just for frames. All cases and packaging minimize their footprint too. The fabric of each case and clip-on sleeve uses recycled PET, and, of course, all outer packaging and inserts are made of recycled paper.

Leading the way again! They re-invented the protective bags that house frames, making them from natural fibers.

It’s much friendlier to the planet than traditionally-used plastic bags – and 100% biodegradable.
